About Run Record Lab
Run Record Lab is a visual archive of running records. The goal is to make record progressions easy to read. Over time it will grow to cover more events and countries.
About the data
Records are compiled from official World Athletics and JAAF data together with other public sources. We chart each event's record progression — the moments a record was bettered — rather than all-time top lists. Alongside ratified world and national records, we may include pre-ratification world bests / national bests. Wind-aided, unratified, ineligible-course, annulled, and equalling marks are excluded as a rule, and for older marks we prefer the electronic (FAT) time.
Note: the men's half marathon mark of 57:20 (Lisbon, 2026) is shown pending official ratification.
